HÖRMANN Deal Ticker: Second AutoStore system for the Klaus Kroschke Group in Braunschweig
Automated storage system with over 20,000 containers optimizes intralogistics processes at industry specialist for identification, operational safety and first aid.
Munich, February 2026 - Kroschke sign-international GmbH in Braunschweig has commissioned HÖRMANN Intralogistics to implement an AutoStore system. Following the successful commissioning of a comparable system at SSV Kroschke GmbH in Wutha-Farnroda, the Klaus Kroschke Group is once again relying on the reliable partnership with the Munich-based integrator.
The automated storage system comprises a grid (single-double) with 20,515 bins and achieves a throughput rate of 146 storage operations and 434 retrievals per hour. Merchandise from the areas of operational safety and first aid as well as labeling products from the company's own production are stored.
14 robots from the "R5.1" series with twelve loading stations will support the warehouse staff in future. Five carousel ports enable efficient order picking, while an additional frame already provides for the possibility of adding a sixth port. The system is controlled via HÖRMANN's tried-and-tested HiLIS warehouse management system, which ensures seamless integration into existing ERP structures.
To ensure complete supply and disposal of the AutoStore ports, a customized conveyor system was designed to handle the automated transport of full and empty small load carriers. A specially developed service and overhang platform completes the system and enables optimal maintenance access.
Stefan Jahns, authorized signatory and Head of SCM at Kroschke sign-international, is satisfied with the decision: "The first AutoStore system at SSV-Kroschke in Wutha-Farnroda has proven to be excellent and has noticeably optimized the work processes on site. These very positive experiences have convinced us to build on the proven partnership with HÖRMANN Intralogistics for the second system. We are looking forward to the significant improvements in picking speed and process quality that the new system will bring."
The system is scheduled to go live at the end of 2026.
