HÖRMANN deal ticker: More throughput, compact storage: major AutoStore project for Franz Mensch in Buchloe

HÖRMANN Intralogistics is implementing an extensive and technically sophisticated AutoStore project for Franz Mensch GmbH at the Buchloe site. With this order, the hygiene product specialist is setting another milestone in the strategic expansion of its logistics site in the Allgäu region.

The new AutoStore facility is part of the large-scale expansion of Franz Mensch GmbH's modern, highly automated and sustainable logistics site, which is currently under construction. New capacities are being created in Buchloe on a total of around 15 hectares to secure the company's continuous growth in the long term.

A single/double grid with around 60,000 containers and a container height of 330 millimetres is being used. 24 robots from the R5.1 series and 20 loading stations ensure efficient operation. Picking takes place via five carousel ports, supplemented by a conveyor port for special processes. Three transfer cells enable connection to the customer's conveyor system, which is used to process incoming goods. The system is designed for a throughput of up to 146 storage and 434 retrieval operations per hour.

Franz Mensch stores a wide range of hygiene and disposable products in the containers. These include protective clothing, gloves and organic disposable tableware, which are picked daily in large quantities for B2B customers.
