What is a tray storage system?
An automated small parts warehouse system consists of one or more aisles where stacker cranes or shuttles store and retrieve bins, boxes or trays fully automatically and serve them to picking stations. Their level of automation, optimal use of space and short access times make them ideal for fast-moving, small-format items.
Dynamic storage and picking
Picking is carried out individually based on the "goods-to-person" or "person-to-goods” principle, or a combination of both. Ergonomically optimised goods delivery to order pickers allows them to increase picking performance with low error rates.
These systems are supported by state-of-the-art technology, like "Pick-by-Light" "Put-to-Light", "Pick-by-Voice", handheld terminals, PC terminals and others.
Our customised HiLIS Warehouse Management System handles on-line interfaces to the various parcel service providers, printing labels for each package.
